How much of our lives are spent in front of screens? The primary objective of tech companies such as Facebook is to be able to grab our attention. Certainly looking around they are very effective at doing this. Attention is the new commodity and your data is the new oil (data is now the most precious commodity in the world!). As we enter the 2020’s we are at the height of the digital age and technology shows no signs of slowing us down.

What is the result of this? Depression and anxiety rates have been increasing among young people. Our attention spans are shortening. Technology can keep us activated, in a fight/fright state. Tech companies admit that they utilise flashing red lights and notifications to trigger activation in our nervous systems, keeping us hooked and plugged in. This can result in us feeling disconnected from ourselves, others and from our own innate wellbeing, creativity and potential.

I can be guilty of this disconnectedness myself. Youtube is my vice and with its endless supply of recommended videos, it’s easy to get sucked in.

What to do about this?

The most important thing you can do is to limit your use. Furthermore, anything that gets your focus back in the present moment is a good thing, as technology can disconnect us from ourselves. Craniosacral Therapy is the perfect remedy for this. Like airing a room out with a fresh breeze, a session can clear your mind of the swirling clouds of everyday thoughts and pressures. Replace a foggy or scattered head with stillness and calm, returning back into your body again, connected and refreshed.

Craniosacral Therapy works with the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid. The Cerebrospinal fluid bathes the brain and nervous system and literally washes the brain. Now who doesn’t need a good brainwash!

To ensure that you feel good in a hyper-connected society, your mind and body need a regular defrag and Craniosacral Therapy does just that.
